Here is a list of the most important certificates and symbols that can be found on JYSK products. They represent environmental, social and ethical values. We have also listed the organizations and networks we have chosen to support actively.


   

The Flower

The Flower is the official environmental certificate of the EU and represents high environmental standards. You will typically find this symbol on bed linen and towels. Read more.


The Swan

The Swan is the Nordic Council of Ministers’ environmental symbol. It is a guarantee that the product is among the least damaging for the environment, without loss of quality and performance: most likely to be found on bed linen and towels. Read more.







  

OekoTex

The OekoTex certificate signifies the absence of any damaging substances in textiles. The symbol guarantees that environmental standards have been complied with across the manufacturing process and that the product adheres to safety regulations. It applies to many textile products. Green Cotton

Green Cotton is a Danish textile symbol that has received a number of environmental awards. All cotton used in products which carry the symbol have been tested for pesticides. It also signifies that dyestuffs with a heavy metal base have not been used and that any bleaching did not involve chlorine. The symbol is likely to be found on towels. Read more.





  

Max Havelaar

Max Havelaar is a symbol that guarantees fair trade. It covers a number of minimum standards in relation to pay, working conditions, development of democracy and environment. The employees are paid a fair price for their goods and the money goes directly to them with no middlemen. It covers decent working conditions and environmental standards. FSC

FSC stands for Forest Stewardship Council and is used for products made of wood. The FSC certificate guarantees that the wood comes from a responsible forestry, and that the growing and cutting happens in agreement with the local people, thus avoiding ruthless exploitation of nature. TFT focuses investment in forest areas and factories that live up to the strictest demands on social and environmental standards. JYSK is one of the founders of TFT. Read more.

BSCI

BSCI - the Business Social Compliance Initiative - is a Europe-wide forum for retail chains, industry and importation companies. Standards information in the supplier chain in particular is shared within the forum towards best practice.  BSCI supports the UN's Global Compact programme. JYSK is a member. Read more

Rådet for Bæredygtig Erhvervsudvikling (The Council for Sustainable Business Development) was founded by a number of leading Danish companies.
